How are you transforming now?
Astro tips, lunar insights and holistic news from my corner of the cosmos...
Welcome, friend, to a sprinkle of stardust from my world to yours…
After returning from a gorgeous trip to Croatia for a final blast of warm weather, I can feel the Scorpionic tide coming in. The sun moved into the powerful sign of Scorpio on 22nd October and is beckoning us towards an opportunity for deep, profound transformation. In this newsletter I will be honouring stepping into the darker part of the year with my monthly lunar cycle check in, along with some exciting news from my corner of the cosmos…
Firstly, I have an update for aromatherapy lovers - my Autumn Sunset Wax Melts are finally ready! Creating the blend for these was a real joy as I tried lovingly to capture ‘autumnal vibes’ in a wax melt. The winning combination of pure essential oils was cedarwood, frankincense, cinnamon bark and ginger. Together, they bring a sweet, earthy aroma with a hint of spice and a touch of Bonfire Night. They are ready for perusal and purchase here on my website. I hope you like them!
I’m also very close to unveiling a creative project that I’ve been working on with contemporary artist Emma Catherine. This has been simmering for over a year and has been waiting to be birthed and FINALLY it felt like the right time at Scorpio season… I do love a creative collaboration! More on this below.
Talking of creative collaborations, those of you who ordered a 2025 Moon Phase Studios Journal may now have received yours, if not it will be on the way! For those who have received it - what do you think? Isn’t it a beauty? I was delighted to contribute to this again and I really hope you can feel the love that went into every page from the MPS team – such a talented lovely bunch of folk.
So, let’s dive into this lunar cycle…
Lunar cycle check in
As I write during this waning moon part of the cycle, it feels like we are still in eclipse season. Although the eclipses are behind us, and this part of the cycle naturally encourages a quieter, introspective energy, change is in the air. As we delve deeper into Scorpio season, volcanic conversations between Mars and Pluto will echo around the new moon (on 1st November) to create something of a reverberation effect over the next few months.
This is not an easy planetary combination. How each of us feel the Mars/Pluto effect will be different; it all depends on your birth chart. My approach (whatever the astrology) is always to cultivate a relationship with the planets and by doing so strengthen our own self-awareness.
Cultivating a relationship means getting to know the planets and the signs. The energy that surrounds our current sun season of Scorpio gives us themes of change, shifts, alchemy, death and rebirth as we enter the darker part of the year. Mars and Pluto are already interwoven with Scorpio, as in ancient astrology Mars rules Scorpio and in modern astrology Pluto is the ruler. Pluto, ‘Lord of the Underworld’ and Mars, ‘God of War’ are a powerful pair who seek movement and change, at the very least. The process of transformation that these planets bring can be uncomfortable and destabilising, just as the things that are destined to help us evolve and grow sometimes seem to be. The question is, how can we be ready to work with this?
Scorpio season and the new moon alignments are bringing this question to our front door. If you feel like you want to get your teeth into this energy and gain something helpful, I believe the potential for deep-diving our light and shadow to find self-acceptance is key. Reflecting on inner resilience and appreciating what the soul needs at a deeper level feels important. One of my favourite quotes by Shubhangi that always feels very Scorpionic to me is “All the fire that has ever burned you has also turned you into gold.” If Scorpio season gets heavy, just remember – you are precious gold, dear reader.
Here are my tips for working with this energy:
Incorporate some daily grounding: Activities such as yoga, meditation or simply slowing down your everyday routines/rituals can help you to feel more grounded, adaptable and ready to welcome change. Alternatively, if you feel like you need to burn off energy – get moving to find your centre.
Keep your support networks strong: This season/part of the lunar cycle may promote introspection, but connecting with those you trust can support any inward journey.
Celebrate your innate magickal ability to shift and change: If you are ready to embrace Scorpio energy and reflect on the theme of transformation, try journalling about transformational periods in your life, how you navigated them and what you learnt.
Appreciate release/letting go: We are in a period of release during the waning moon and Scorpio season can also bring a sense of detoxification. If this resonates, remember letting go equals making space for fresh energy.
A few days into the new lunar cycle, Mars enters Leo, so a sense of moving forward will be also in the ether – hurray! Let’s welcome the transformative power of this new moon to help us blaze a trail into November…
Cosmic Creations
I’m delighted to give you a glimpse of a very special project from Emma Catherine and me:
Together we have created a series of Astro Goddess posters (A3 and A4) with their own magickal poem, inspired by my work as an astrologer and Emma’s intuitive ability to capture the imagination with her art. We will be staggering the release of these, beginning with our Scorpio astro goddess at the new moon. Each of our astro goddesses celebrate the essence of a zodiac sign, so if you feel like stepping into that energy (which you will have somewhere in your birth chart, as we all do), or perhaps it is your sun, moon or rising sign, you can welcome our astro goddess for inspiration. We hope you love them as much as we do! Our first one will be officially released on Friday’s new moon, to celebrate Scorpio energy.
If you don’t already, follow me on the Substack app and/or Instagram for the full reveal…
Samhain beckons…
Just before the new moon, on 31st October, the Celtic festival of Samhain reminds us of the thinness of the veil between the two worlds and marks the New Year for pagans. What a magickal time to have this special festival and a powerful new moon! Enjoy this potent energy.
That’s it for now friends. As we travel into this darker season, embrace those quiet whispers of magic, and if you are called to dive into your stars and the beautiful craft of astrology, please get in touch. My autumn/winter diary is now open…
Much love,
Charlotte x
