Let your intuition lead the way
Astro tips, lunar insights and holistic news from my corner of the cosmos...
Welcome to my first newsletter via Substack, friends!
It’s been a while since I’ve been in touch – what with an intense full moon and a Mercury retrograde, I’ve embraced slowing down and reviewing all that has needed my attention under these August skies. My plan to move over to Substack has been bubbling for a while, so I’m very excited to finally be sending you this from a platform that celebrates creativity and community and feels much more aligned with my values.
If you’re new to subscribing, hello and welcome, I’m so pleased you’re here. If you regularly receive my updates, sending abundant gratitude to you for letting me bring some astrological magick to your inbox.
This summer has seen me exhale after working on some important deadlines for the wonderful Moon Phase Studios journal, which I’ve had the pleasure to contribute to again this year. Spending time in the garden with my cat Chester has provided nourishing little moments, and day trips to the coast with my hubby are always a joy. I wish I could have bottled the balmy summer evening feeling, as I’m noticing more than a whisper of autumn on the wind now – perhaps you’ve felt this too?
As we embrace Virgo season and begin the shift towards autumnal vibes, change is calling in my practice! I’ve been interweaving seeing clients with writing about all things astrology for some time now and am happily in a place where I will be opening up another day to see clients from September. This is an exciting development as my practice grows and I can devote more time to connecting with my fellow astro lovers.
Today I’m bringing you some astro insights to chime in with this waning part of the lunar cycle, along with some holistic tips and news from my corner of the cosmos…
Lunar Cycle Check In
If you’re feeling like you’ve been wading through treacle over the last few weeks, you aren’t alone. The month of August built up to a lively, chaotic full moon in Aquarius on the 19th with a sense of ‘expect the unexpected’. In the midst of all this a Mercury retrograde has been humming away in the background in the sign of Virgo and then finishing in Leo. A sense of two steps forward, three steps back might have been in the ether. Throw in some big planetary alignments and you have a bumpy road. The extent to which you may have noticed this depends on your birth chart, but if you have felt challenged, please take a breath.Â
We are moving towards the end of the waning phases of the lunar cycle, a part that offers a deeper, more introspective energy. The planets are of course still orbiting, offering us new insights (and yes September promises many), but the moon is our cosmic timer. Look to her and we can look to ourselves. Here are some simple tips to help you stay tuned in…
Let your intuition lead the way: Â This time in the cycle is perfect for coming back to your centre. Whether it's meditation, using oracle cards, or perhaps being out in nature that helps your intuition speak, make time for activities that bring a feeling of peace and connection within.
Reflect on what has shifted recently for you: Are you looking at things from a new perspective now? What has been illuminated for you and what have you learnt this cycle?
Let go and rest: With the high cosmic energy that has been in the ether, we might feel tired. If your body and/or mind needs a rest, let it be. Don’t fight it.
Make space: During the waning phases it’s helpful to declutter ready for the next cycle and the upcoming new moon.
And finally, if you have your birth chart, check to see which house Virgo rules. This is where our next new moon is, so we can look here to see where new energy and fresh starts might be beckoning.
Mercury has now turned direct (a big cheer from me!), and we begin the approach to the next new moon in Virgo which peaks across 2nd/3rd September depending on where you are in the world.
Pay attention to what you’ve worked through over the last few weeks and be kind to yourself. The next lunar cycle brings an opportunity for more change and shifts so let’s embrace some self-nourishment now, ready to welcome new energy.
A Cosmically Conscious Journey at Autumn Equinox
The Autumn Equinox is when I look forward to welcoming my Cosmically Conscious clients. These are people who have signed up with me for a year to work with the astrology of their birth charts at each special turning point of the year, the equinoxes and the solstices. I love offering this to those who are committed to developing a relationship with the planets and are looking to connect to something bigger. It’s a real journey of self-discovery with the stars.
If this is of interest, please get in touch and we can chat more. I’ve got just three spaces available around Autumn Equinox, a beautiful time to begin your journey. If you aren’t quite ready to delve into the stars over a year, you can start off with a Birth Chart Explore session, the perfect way to enjoy an initial tour of your natal chart, or a ‘Chart Check In’ if we’ve worked together before.
Wax Melts for Cyclical Living
Many of you know that I work closely with a local maker to create my own wax melt collections for cyclical living. My original melts – the Moon Phase Wax Melt Collection – have a special place in my heart as I dreamed these into being a few years ago. The melts that have followed, Winter Moon, Spring Moon and Summer Breeze, have all been a labour of love, with essential oils chosen specifically for their properties to complement the energy that each season brings.
As we near the end of summer, I have just a few Summer Breeze Melts left to order on my website, for those of you who adore a fresh floral vibe and are hanging onto the sunshine as long as possible…
However, I've been working on my autumn-inspired melts and they'll be available soon! I’ve been testing blends using essential oils of cinnamon, ginger, cedarwood and may chang to give you an idea of my next creation. If you’d like priority notification of when they’re available, which should be in couple of weeks, just drop me a line.
My summer shares….   Â
I am someone who has at least three books on the go at the same time! (Hello Gemini rising.) However, this summer I walked into a local bookshop and one called out to me in particular. The Untethered Soul by Michael A. Singer is a book I’ve had on my reading list for a while, so it was clearly this summer that was the time to read it. I haven’t finished it just yet but it’s been fascinating to delve into as my own soul exploration continues… If you’ve read it I’d love to know your thoughts!
And finally – a shout out to a very special magical being who makes her own jewellery – Holly Hopwood who runs Lunar Sparkle Silver. When her beautiful Larimar pendant popped up on my Facebook feed, it sang out and I had to have it! Delivered in beautiful packaging with tiny sparkles it was a joy to behold. Please do check out her work, as the energy she puts into every piece is very special indeed.
Until next time friends! I hope the rest of this lunar cycle brings you insight and time to rest and regroup.
With love and lunar light,
Let go and rest is such perfect advice. The energy has felt turbulent and intense for sure! My asc is 29 Cap and I am feeling the pressure. Self care feels vital. I really enjoyed this!
The Untethered Soul was a life changing book for me. It kick started my healing journey from anxiety and OCD and I haven't looked back since I picked it up weirdly actually 2 years ago to this day! I listen to Michael Singers talks on a daily basis and his Audible series is also fantastic. Would highly recommend if you're enjoyed TUS :)
