Reflective horoscopes for Cancer season
One of the things I love about Cancerian folk is that when it comes to emotions - nothing is rushed, it all just flows, like the tides. As someone with a hive of quick-moving Mercury energy in my chart, I find this a refreshing, compassionate energy to be around. Let’s feel all the feelings, - yes! (My only caveat is that I will absolutely need to talk them all through, too.)
As the sun reaches its highest point in the sky and we celebrate the solstice today (21st June), the soft waters of Cancer season lap at our feet. The beginning of this season initiates the second half of the calendar year, moving us into a realm that invites us to honour our emotional health, listen to our intuition, and place a loving emphasis on home and family.
Ruled by the moon, this water sign’s energy encourages us to open our hearts and listen within. Here we learn that we don’t always have to push through in life, sometimes we simply need to pause and experience the world around us. As we move with the flow of this season, we can appreciate the strength that it takes to be honest in our emotional vulnerabilities and ask the question - what is it that helps us feel secure when the waters get choppy?
The astrology of Cancer season…
As we move through the season, the end of June brings the entrance of bright and bountiful Jupiter moving into Leo and then some big astrology as Neptune, Pluto, Uranus and Jupiter enter some deep and meaningful conversations. There’s something of a cosmic pinch point around the beginning of July with a Mars/ Uranus conjunction in Gemini, which is one to watch, but otherwise the waters feel like they are pulling back with a Cancerian Mercury retrograde for much of the month (June 29th - July 23rd). Whether these waters are pulling back to warn us of an incoming tidal wave remains to be seen, but with eclipses lighting up the sky in August, I can’t help but feel we’ve got some important work to do…
